China sees fastest growth in billionaires

Asia has been creating a lot of billionaires - there are now more billionaires in Asia than in North America.  Across the world there are 2754 billionaires and Asia now takes the largest share of this population.  Wealth-X, a research firm indicated that the billionaire population in Asia has increased by 29.2% to 784 individuals.  North America only noticed an increase of 11%. North America has now 727 billionaires.  It is true that the USA as a country still has the most billionaires (namely 680 billionaires).

One of the main contributors to the increase of billionaires in Asia is China. China noticed an increase in wealth among its billionaire population of 61%.
