Chinese buyers of US real estateMany Chinese are becoming rich in China, but many of them are looking to move out of their country. Based on a recent report, more than a third of rich Chinese are looking to move to another country!

The US is the top destination for most of those rich Chinese citizens. The U.S. topped the list as the most popular destination for the fourth year in a row for its strong education system, cleaner air and better food safety.

It is no surprise that many rich Chinese are leaving China for better education systems in the US.  Each year, hundreds of thousands of Chinese students are arrivug in the US.  Another reason why Chinese millionaires want to move is because they are trying to escape the continuous pollution in China as well as the numerous restrictions that their government is putting on them  They're also looking to protect their wealth. Overseas assets account for an average of 11 percent of the total assets of Chinese millionaires and this number is expected to continue to increase rapidly over the following years,  It also has become clear that Chinese prefer to allocate most of their overseas assets in real estate.  This is one of the reasons that Chinese have been buying American real estate in large quantities over the last five years.  This trend is expected to continue and accelerate even much more. Currently, less than 1% of the Chinese population are able to buy US real estate. As more and more Chinese families continue to become more wealthy, it is expected that more Chinese will buy American houses over the next 10 years.  There is also an expectation that many Chinese will buy in different cities.  For now, Los Angeles is the top city for Chinese millionaires to buy property, followed by New York, Boston and San Francisco.  Seattle, Chicago, Atlanta are also key cities for many Chinese buyers.  However, there is currently a strong increase of transactions of Chinese buyers in mid-tier cities such as Orlando, Atlanta and Houston.  The average purchase price in those cities is significantly lower which enables many more Chinese to buy the American home that they always dreamed about.
