Based on a study done by RealtyTrac and Ethnic Technologies, 46 percent of Mandarin Chinese-speaking buyers who purchased U.S. homes in the 17 months ending in May 2015 paid all-cash, which is an increase of 229 percent compared to 2005.

Chinese buyers are becoming a very important group of international buyers in the US real estate market. Especially because this group of buyers is typical buying a US house that is more expensive than a typical American buyer, and, as the study suggest, more Chinese buyers are using all cash. Some Americans believe that this group of buyers have been causing the strong price appreciation in certain cities as they are having no problem to outbid others during bidding wars.  This article, published by The Financial, goes into more details about the study.
