Some realtors and developers seem to cooperate in illegal ways to target Chinese buyers, at least if we can believe a lawsuit that was filed just recently in Seattle.
Two plaintiffs who purchased newly built homes in Kirkland allege that their broker at Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty was actually working on behalf of the developer selling the homes. J. Jiao and the couple M. Zhang and W. Fan hired Realogics Sotheby’s broker Connie Blumenthal to buy houses in Seattle in 2015.
Realogics has aggressively targeted homebuyers from China and is one of the top brokerages for foreign buyers in Seattle. The company and Blumenthal call the claims “baseless.”
