A Chinese family paid US$ 6.5 million in order to get their daughter a spot in Stanford University. This is an extreme example of how far Chinese parents are willing to go to send their children to the USA. Often, after the child has been accepted in a university, the Chinese parents will start the search for a house or condo apartment that they can buy for their child. Chinese parents do not believe in renting apartments and think that buying a property close to the school is in the best interest of their child, and the best decision from an investment perspective as well.
