Chinese have been buying US real estate a large number of US houses since 2010

Over the last years, Chinese have been consistently ranked as the Nr 1 foreign buyer of US real estate. In 2020, Chinese have been buying 18,400 houses/.condos so far.  Due to the coronavirus situation, very few Chinese have been traveling outside of China. As such, it is expected that this number will go up in 2021 and the following years.  Chinese continue to invest in overseas real estate (especially in the US) because of the fact that they are sending their children overseas for education, they often immigrate to the US, or they like to buy US houses for diversification purposes
