Chinese people poured $15 billion in US businesses in 2015. California is the top destination, but money is spreading throughout the US now. With $5 billion investment already completed in the first quarter, the investment from China is expected to reach a new high this year due to the concerns about yuan depreciation and slowing economy in China. Since 2000, $59 billion has been invested in US businesses as at the end of last year, and 1,900 companies as well as 90,000 jobs are created. In the past 15 years, California attracted $8 billion from China, beating any other states in the US, with 452 Chinese companies and 9,500 people employed in the state. The investment in California is mainly concentrated in Los Angeles and San Francisco Bay area. However, New York ranks the top in absorbing capital from China with $4.1 billion last year.
