Florida remains top state for foreign buyers

Across the US, foreign buyers spent  US$59 billion on purchasing houses.  For the 14th year, Florida is the preferred state for foreign buyers (with 25% of total sales). California comes in second with 11% and Texas comes in third with 8%.

Real estate prices in the US climbed to new records over the last 12 months (although they are cooling off a bit now).  This did not stop many foreign buyers to continue to buy residential homes.  For many foreigners, the US still stands for the country of freedom, true ownership of real estate and a better future.
