Foreign purchases of US real estate impact prices and supply

Housing prices in those zip codes with higher foreign-born Chinese population grew faster than other zipcodes. This is based on a paper published by the Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania.  Based on research by NAR and the paper, about half of the foreign buyers are purchasing US homes because they want to use the home as primary residence. The others serve as vacation homes, investment properties or pied-a-terre.
