Hong Kong’s multimillionaire population—defined as individuals with over HK$10 million in net assets including HK$1 million in liquid assets—rose to about 395,000 in 2025, or one in every 14 adults, according to Citi’s Hong Kong Affluent Study. Their median net worth reached HK$20.5 million, with wealth split roughly evenly between property and liquid assets.
The average multimillionaire is 55 and accumulated their first HK$1 million at age 34, buying a first home around 33. Among emerging centimillionaires, nearly half prioritize intergenerational wealth building, with many already engaging in succession planning through insurance and wills. Citi notes increasingly sophisticated wealth‑management strategies among the affluent.
