US real estate: growing number of Chinese investors

Chinese investment in the US properties is seeing a record high in the history. The interest is not only for residential properties, but also for commercial properties for rental income. The strong investment from China, totaled $118 billion, is the only reason that the US real estate market could recover from the financial crisis. Many Chinese people regard their investments in the US as a way to avoid the stricter restrictions by Chinese government on capital outflows. In the mean time, Koreans and Indians are making large investments in the US real estate market as well. This may cause a difficult situation for the US. Chinese investment, mostly in more expensive areas of the US, is expected to exceed $200 billion by the end of this year. Read more here.
